November Hall of Shame

The whole point of Pharmacy Price Hound is to call out misleading first-time discounts, helping buyers spot unfair pricing and pushing pharmacies to be more honest. By calling out the worst offenders, we hope to make every pharmacy think twice before hiking prices after that first cheap deal.

Worst offenders for post-discount price jumps:

  • Numan – the biggest offender this month. The 2.5mg starter pen often shows around £155 with a first-time discount, but the next dose jumps to about £220-£230, a c. 40-45% increase. That’s one of the steepest follow-up hikes in the UK market.
  • Pharmacy2U – another serial climber, moving from around £152 for a first-order dose to roughly £190-£195 on repeat, a c. 25% rise after the discount ends
  • E-Surgery – usually priced at c. £140 with an introductory offer, but the second dose can hit £170-£175, marking a c. 20% increase.
  • e-Pharmacy – closely mirrors E-Surgery, starting near £140 and rising to c. £170, also around a c. 20% jump.
  • Boots – discount prices hover around £137-£140 initially, but the second dose lands near £165-£170, a c. 18% increase, pushing them into premium territory.
  • Bolt Pharmacy / Fella Health – smaller shifts at c. 5-6%, moving from around £145 to £153, though still worth watching since both follow identical pricing trends.

If you spot a deal we’ve missed or want to chat about your experience with any of these pharmacies, we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback helps make Pharmacy Price Hound even more accurate and transparent.
